About Me	Worked 3 summers as a classroom aide at Allied Agencies in early 70s. Attended community college in Peoria & Champaign. Married Jerry (a U of I engineering grad student) in 1978, and moved to Oregon same year, when he started his career at Intel. After finishing college in Portland, I worked in a city library, but stayed home to be a full-time mom after kids were born in 1989/91. I helped start a preschool in 1994, and volunteered in many capacities at my children's school, grades K-12. Our family hosted international students 4 times during their HS years. Our daughter graduated from college in PA and Grad School at U of Illinois. She works as an instructional librarian at a state university in Michigan. Our son finished college in Massachusetts and grad school at Indiana U. He now works as a pharmacology research chemist in the Boston area. I have pursued a vocation as a parent educator, leading groups based on the book Simplicity Parenting and the work of Gordon Neufeld; and I enjoy leading qigong practice...(read more)
