Dwight Tibbetts
Class of 1975
Dwight Tibbetts has taught music in the Augusta School system for 32 years. He earned undergraduate music degrees at UMA and USM, and completed a Masters in Conducting in 2006. He has over 30 pieces of music published by Solid Brass and Cimmeron Press worldwide. He has performed for many dignitaries over the years on trumpet and piano including being the piano player for years at the Governor's Mansion, the Blaine House. He currently owns and performs in his own brass quintet, the Downeast Brass. (www.downeastbrass.com) Married for 24 years to his lovely wife Marianne, also a musician and teacher, they have three grown children. Their oldest, Ben, is pursuing a Masters in Music Composition. Their second son, Donald, works for Hannaford food stores and their youngest, Chelsea, is a high honor student at the University of Southern Maine. Dwight and Marianne live in Windsor, in the home they built.
