Mathew Kumfer

Army, 5 Years
Mathew Kumfer graduated in year 2003. He joined the military right after graduation. He then married his high school sweetheart Patricia Kumfer who also graduated in year 2003. He has completed 5 years in the Army and plans on making a career out of the service. He currently is SGT working as Black Hawk Mechanic working to become a Black Hawk Pilot. He has completed 1 tour to Iraq, 1 to Korea, and is currently deployed in Afghanistan.

Served as a Green Beret on active duty from 67 to 70 and then in the 20th Special Forces Group of the Florida Guard until I completed ROTC as a graduate student at UCF. Commissioned in 1981 and served at Fort Sill, Fort Lewis, Fort Sam Houston, Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, Fort Rucker, AL and spent my last two years in a joint assignment with the Navy in Norfolk, VA developing the Tricare program. Retired in 1995.
