About Me	After high school I attended Western Washington and obtained my BA in Political Science and a passion for progressive politics. The threat of the military draft after graduation interfered with immediate plans for graduate school, so I worked at St. Regis in Tacoma for a year. Harriet and I married in the summer of 1970 and we moved to Tempe, Arizona where I received a MA in Political Science from Arizona State and then later to Kent, Ohio where I received a PhD. from Kent State. I accepted a job offer from Providence College, and we have lived in Rhode Island ever since. Over the years I have climbed the academic ladder by presenting papers, publishing articles and two books. I also served as an academic department chair. A highlight was a year in Hungary as a Fulbright Scholar. Additionally, I have done consulting work for government agencies and community groups from time to time. Our daughter Erica was born in Kent and currently resides with her husband in Amherst, MA. We are hoping grandchildren come along soon. We traveled a great deal and over the years and have spent a great deal of time in Sweden, Harrietâ€™s home country.
