Favorite School Memory	Being in a small enough school to know everyone. Many of us went from kindergarten through high school together.
About Me	Married Greg Smith from our class (he went by Nicholls in HS) and raised 2 children. Went back to college in 1986 for a second degree in microbiology. Worked in research at The Plant Cell Research Institute 4 years, and then at Stanford Univ 25 years. At Stanford in Sharon Long's lab, I worked on genetic and molecular aspects of a symbiosis between bacteria and plants, and had the opportunity to travel to international meetings.
