Marilyn Moore was born in Chico on 11 Sep 1922 and raised on her family's ranch west of Artois. She graduated from Glenn County Union (Willows) High School in 1940. She married her husband of 62+ years, Lou Amborn, on 1 Nov 1941. They had two sons, Lloyd and Val Amborn. Lloyd graduated in 1960. Marilyn was an excellent musician and played the french horn in the high school band directed by Leslie "Mac" McArthur.
