WSHS Classof 1965 50th Reunion May 22-23 2015
The Class of 1965 Reunion
Committee invites you, your spouse, and your family and friends to attend a 50th year Class
Reunion celebration in Willow Springs, Missouri. In addition to our own Class’ very special event, several
All-city events will be held over the 2015 Memorial Day Weekend, including our Class’ being invited to
be a special guest at the 2015 Willow Springs High School Alumni Banquet. The Committee
Encourages you to participate in all of these events. We have structured them to maximize Class
participation overall.
Friday May 22- Downtown Willow Springs
5 p.m.-7 p.m. US Bank Plaza -Outdoor picnic next to the Star Theater. Free of charge to all alumni.
7 p.m. -8 p.m. Star Theater- Lou Wehmer’s presentation of the History of Willow Springs. Free of charge
to all alumni.
8 p.m.-10 p.m. Open Range-1208 E. Main Street (next door to the Comfort Inn)-informal social gathering;
food and drink at classmates’ expense.
Saturday May 23
7 a.m.–10:30 a.m. United Methodist Church-All classmates are invited to attend The Rotary Club’s
Pancake Breakfast at the Methodist Church on Harris Street. The cost of breakfast,
which was $5.00 per person in 2014, will be at classmates’ expense.
9 a.m. - 10 p.m. Lions Club Facility-2532 CR 5800 Pine Grove Road- Everyone is invited to
the Lions Club for a full day of fun and socializing. A catered deli-lunch will
be served @ 12 noon. This event will continue until 10 p.m. for those classmates
who choose not to attend the Alumni Banquet and for classmates to return to after the
Banquet is concluded.
5:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. WS School Campus Munford Gymnasium
All classmates are invited to attend the WSHS Alumni Banquet. As the 50th year
Graduating class, we will be a special guest with dedicated seating and our class will
provide a speaker to address the Banquet. We are very pleased to announce
that our Class of ’65 Alum, Lonnie Whitaker, attorney and award winning author
(as well as a First All-SCA Team member for the 1964 football season!) has agreed to
Represent our Class at the Banquet.
The Banquet includes a catered dinner, entertainment, as well as the Willow Springs
Scholarship Club’s presentation of its 2015 scholarships. Admission tickets, which will
go on sale around the middle of April, 2015 will be at classmates’ expense. The price of
admission to the banquet in 2014 was $25.00 per person. When the tickets go on sale
next year, the reunion committee will provide you documentation well before the Banquet
date about how to purchase them.
