While attending college in Minneapolis, our other good friend Dennis Pederson and I invited a new college friend to come back home to Eagle Lake region to hunt geese along with Clair. We all decided to let our new friend roam the valley while the rest of us cruised the hills. Suddenly we all heard three quick shots, and later discovered our new friend had successfully dropped three wild geese! What an outlier he turned out to be, as at first he told us he wasn't really a hunter. Aha, we discovered the truth, and had a wonderful time back home preparing a wonderful dinner together.

An all around good friend who helped me to enjoy running and just a variety of things including trapping mink. I helped him to raise his bicycle from a slough where he had caught a muskrat, and while riding on thin ice had fallen through several months before. By then the bicycle was quite rusty, and possibly would have been better to just leave it. We retrieved it by standing on a small boat and using a grappling hook to raise the bike. Sort of tippy and I remember we both almost fell in while trying.
