Garry Jay Sprung

Class of 1964

He was the Director of Staff of the UFT ( United Federation of Teachers) at his retirement, 42 years in education, 28 as a union representative. His working years werevspent to protect teacher, para professionals, secretary's and all other ancillary licensed pedagogical employees of the BoE ( Board of Education) to uphold contract enforcement.
Ironically his schoolmate from Bryant Joel Klein became the Chancellor of the DoE (Department of Education)
Although they served their employers they remained close friends throughout their tenures in their respective high profile positions
