About Me	Retired. Wesleyan Minister, Asbury Seminary Professor emeritus of Church History and Historical Theology and Chairman emeritus, Houghton College Board of Trustees. Right out of high school, enlisted in the US Navy's V- 12 Officer's Training Program at Muhlenburg Col. in Dec. 1942 . Was chosen from my unit to go to the Naval Meteorology program at the Call Tech. but eventually received my U.S.Naval officer's commission as an at Cornell Univ. in 1944 as an Ensign and was immediately assigned to the Naval Oriental Languages School at the Univ. of Colorado as a Cantonese intelligence specialist trainee and final assignment to the Naval Intelligence Center in Washingtjon, D.C. in June of 1946. In Aug. 1946 was released from active duty into the USNR and in Sept began teaching at Allentown Bible Institute later United Wesleyan College. After serving a total of nine years in active and reserve duty resigned my commission in 1952 when I was ordained as a minister and serving as high school principal and professor at Eastern Pilgrim College. Since then -former pastor, denominational administrator, high school, college , university and seminary faculty member and principal, dean, provost, assistant to the president, president, director of a research project funded by a $306,000 grant from the Pew Foundation Charitable Trusts,.First denominational Secretary of Education of the newly-merged Wesleyan Church. author, editor, and contributor to numero...(read more)
