Chris Weaver
Class of 1990
Army, 22 Years
After entering the Delayed Entry Program in 1989, Chris joined the U.S. Army after graduating in July of 1990. After completing Basic and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in Fort Benning, GA, in November, he was stationed in Garlstadt, Germany. January the following year, Chris deployed in support of the Gulf War (Desert Shield/Desert Storm/Desert Comfort) as an 11M, Mechanized Infantry soldier. It was during this deployment, assigned under Task Force 1/41, he participated in the Battle of 73 Easting, considered one of the "largest tank battles of the 20th Century".
After completing his tour, Chris was stationed at Fort Hood, TX, for the remainder of his first enlistment. After his first enlistment he changed his Military Occupational Skill (MOS) to 73D, to Finance Accounting Specialist, and transitioned into the U.S. Army Reserves in Wichita, KS. While serving with the local Finance Battalion, Chris deployed to Germany in support of Operation Joint Endeavour in Bosnia.
Reentering active duty after the deployment, he once again changed his MOS to 71L Administrative Specialist, and served in locations from South Korea and North Carolina, back to Texas. It was during is assignment in support of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), that 9/11 happened.
For the last time in his career, Chris changed his MOS to 35L, Counterintelligence Agent. During his last 10 years in the military, he was stationed in Germany and Fort Hood, TX, and deployed twice more to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
