Dr. Dwight Reimer
Class of 1966
Dr. Dwight Reimer has more than 25 years of management, executive leadership, organizational development and innovation experience in diverse industries including energy services, small business management, and higher education. He has served as President and Dean of Professional Studies at Central Christian College of Kansas and as Director of Academic Affairs (Hawaii) and Campus College Chair for the School of Technology (Colorado) at University of Phoenix. He has taught more than 100 courses at University of Phoenix since 1989.
Dwight holds a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership from University of Phoenix, a Master of Business Administration in Information Science from University of Colorado, a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Education from University of Northern Colorado, and an Associate in Arts from Central Christian College of Kansas.
Based on his doctoral research completed during his first year as president at Central Christian College, Dwight implemented significant organizational and leadership changes resulting in an improved campus culture, improved financial position, a 50 % increase in majors, an innovative dual-credit program, the first online courses, and record enrollment. He currently teaches online Business Management and Leadership courses for Ashford University, University of the Rockies, and Central Christian College of Kansas. Prior to that, Dwight was the Director of Administration and Finance at Youth Unlimited Gospel Outreach, a non-profit missionary organization in National City, CA with human service ministries in Tijuana, Ensenada, and Mexicali. His career includes more than 20 years as an Information Systems and Business Systems Analyst in the gas and electric utility industry and two years in the US Army at White Sands Missile Range, where he analyzed missile flight data.
Dwight has been recognized by the University of Phoenix as Who's Who of Alumni (2009), Distinguished Alumni - SAS Fact Book (2007), and Faculty of the Year (Colorado, 1998). He was honored in Who's Who Among America's Teachers, Eighth Edition, in 2004.
Dr. Reimer and his wife, Peg, live in San Diego, CA and spend as much time as possible with their ten grandchildren.
