| About Me | Went straight to college while working full time after high school. Moved with my family to Seattle in '99. Continued school and work until I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at age 23. Got married that same year, but became permanently disabled after I lost all feeling in my lower half. I regained that, however, and had a child at age 26, and was re-diagnosed with a rare form of MS called Neuromylitis-Optica (aka Devic's Syndrome) and later diagnosed with RA in my hips, degenerative disk disease in my spine (and had to have a disk partially removed), and Von Willabrand's Disease (a hereditary bleeding condition wherein one's blood doesn't produce the correct chemicals to clot properly). I recently, despite - or perhaps, because of - these ailments, underwent bariatric surgery and had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy to help me lose weight, and now, a month and a half later, I'm the same weight I was before I had my daughter, which is almost ...(read more) |
