Kristie Mewis, born Kristen Anne Mewis on February 25, 1991 in Weymouth, Massachusetts, is a celebrated American professional soccer player. Her soccer journey began at her alma mater, Whitman-Hanson Regional High School, located in Hanson, Massachusetts. Mewis had an exceptional high school career, finishing with 74 goals and 34 assists. She achieved notable recognition as a three-time NSCAA All-American, All-New England, All-Massachusetts team honoree, and Eastern Massachusetts Girls Soccer Association Div. 1 First-Team All-Star. Her talent was further acknowledged when she was named the NSCAA Youth Player of the Year and the US Soccer Young Female Athlete of the Year in 2008, and part of the Parade All-America team the following year.

After high school, Mewis attended Boston College where she had a fruitful soccer career from 2009 to 2012. As a freshman, Mewis recorded five goals and six assists, making her stand out in the Boston College Eagles roster. During her sophomore year, she led the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in shots with 101 and scored ten goals. Her incredible performance earned her numerous awards such as New England Soccer News Player of the Year, All-ACC first team selection, Hermann Trophy semifinalist, and NSCAA All-American first team, among others.

Mewis’s professional career started in 2013, and she played for various teams including Canberra United FC, FC Kansas City, Boston Breakers, and Houston Dash among others. As of 2022, she is part of the NJ/NY Gotham FC where she maintains her position as a midfielder. Mewis has represented the United States in different age levels and finally in the senior women's national team since 2013. Her most notable international achievement was securing a team medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Apart from her successful career in soccer, Mewis has had the rare opportunity to play alongside her younger sister, Sam Mewis. They both represented the United States in the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup and the 2010 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
