Joe put up a valiant fight against pancreatic cancer for more than a year. Sadly, he died seven months after completing his bachelor's degree. He never had the opportunity to work as a college graduate because of his illness.
John Kotsch '68 said:
I worked with my classmate at Kinney Shoes in the late 60s. He was a good guy, friendly and outgoing. He had an infectious laugh and smiled a lot .And He was a hell of a salesman .I valued his friendship.
