| About Me | During high school I attended South East Career Center to study carpentry. After high school I framed new homes and multi-family apartment buildings and condominiums for four years. I enlisted in the US Army in 1983 and spent 3 years in Karlsruhe Germany working as a bridge crewman in the 502 Engineer Company. I spent approximately 6 month of that time in Mali West Africa in 1985 in support of the World Aid movement for starving children in Africa. We were 15 Bridge crewmen engineers sent to a little town called Gao in the Sahara Desert to build and operate a military raft to cross trucks loaded with donated food from all over the world across the Niger River. I got out of the Army in 1986 and joined the Ohio Army National Guard and enrolled at The Ohio State University. I graduated four years later and went into new home construction. I worked for 10 years as the Warranty Manager for Qualstan Homes then 8 years as a site superintendent and operations manager at Dominion Homes. In 2005 I deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Civil Engineer in the 16th Engineer Brigade and spent 15 months away from my family. I was stationed in Baghdad at Camp Liberty and we supported the 4th Infantry Division as the Division Engineers. After my return I left Dominion homes and started working full time for the Ohio Army National Guard as the State Design and Project Management Branch Chief. After 10 years with the Ohio Army National Guard I recently took a new position with Roth Construction Columbus in fire restoration as their Senior Project Manager for Large Loss projects. I am still in the National Guard and will retire in June after 36 years of service at the rank of Colonel. I have also worked at Olentangy Orange High School over the last 4 years designing and constructing sets for the Theatre Department. I work with the set ki...(read more) |
