What is Brad Armstrong known for?

Brad Armstrong, born as Robert Bradley James on June 15, 1962, in Marietta, Georgia, was a recognized figure in professional wrestling. Known by his ring name, Armstrong, he was renowned for his appearances with the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in the 1990s. He came from a family deeply rooted in wrestling, with his father being "Bullet Bob" Armstrong, and his brothers Steve, Scott, and Brian also professional wrestlers.

Armstrong debuted in the wrestling world at the age of 18 in the National Wrestling Alliance's (NWA) Gulf Coast territory, Southeastern Championship Wrestling. He played the role of a 'face' or a good guy, owing to his good looks and superb wrestling ability. During his time there, he feuded with Jerry Stubbs and Tom Prichard. His wrestling achievements include winning the NWA United States Junior Heavyweight Championship.

In 1984, Armstrong moved to NWA's Georgia territory, Georgia Championship Wrestling. It was during this period that he formed The Lightning Express with "White Lightning" Tim Horner and feuded with various wrestlers like Tom McCartney and Ted DiBiase. His in-ring skills allowed him to mix technical wrestling with explosive speed, making him an intriguing performer to watch.

Armstrong's career further flourished when he held the NWA National Tag Team Championship twice in a year. Once he won it with his father, and once with Horner. He built his reputation by taking on various wrestlers including Jimmy Garvin and the Four Horsemen team. His career spanned over three decades, from his debut on July 4, 1980, until his retirement on February 12, 2011. Tragically, he passed away on November 1, 2012, in Kennesaw, Georgia.
