| About Me | In process, but for now, drum roll ... . go with retired special ed teacher, sometimes journalism teacher and journalist with time at The Post, Washington Star, & Santa Fe Reporter Newspapers, LIFE & People Mags. and others, RPCV (returned Peace Corps Volunteer) with two years of mid-60s service in urban public health and community organization and TEFL in Turkey, and a decade of mental health work in locked hospitals for severely ill children. Also the owner and chief wrench of Moondance Motors, a gypsy auto repair enterprise that specialized in foreign and antique auto and truck electrical problems, and taught auto repair and other technical (including technical writing) and trades courses. Was an analyst and statistician for the U.S. Public Health Service in Washington DC from 1963 to 1965, responsible for writing computer analyses of study data. Also worked four summers building houses and apartments in the DC Maryland suburbs while in college. Was a phone tech for Gateway Computers before it shipped its call center to Mumbai. Orchestrates a discussion site on Linkedin called specialeducators.inc that has over 400 members. The site fosters discussions between workers and other participants in the field.
