About Me	In 1962 I began working for Judge Luther Maples as a Deputy Clerk/Shorthand Court Reporter for the Harrison County Family Court, Harrison County, Gulfport, Mississippi. We dealt with neglected and delinquent children up to the age of 18, at which time they were considered adults and, unfortunately for their care and help, were no longer under our jurisdiction. In 1965 I moved to New Orleans, LA, and began employment with a law firm as secretary to the new associate. I worked there for 3 years and enjoyed those years, and made some good friends. I had the opportunity to move to Garland, TX in 1969 and eventually was employed with a small law firm in downtown Dallas for one of the litigation partners. The firm eventually merged with another law firm in 1979, and my attorney became the head of the litigation section. I had the opportunity of working with this man for nearly 19 years as his assistant before we lost him to cancer. I remained with that firm for almost 30 years. I am now retired, a...(read more)
