| Events | HORNICK, Iowa -- Timothy A. Comly, 46, of Hornick was killed unexpectedly on the job site Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in Lincoln, Neb. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. today at St. John's Evangelical Church, rural Holly Springs, Iowa, with the Rev. Paul Mahaffie officiating. The Willman Funeral Home in Rodney, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements. Timothy Ardon Comly, the son of Larry Ardon and Alice Marie (Dawdy) Comly, was born March 10, 1962, in Sioux City. He grew up in Holly Springs and graduated from Westwood High School in Sloan, Iowa, in 1980. He owned the Horseshoe Bar, then moved to Michigan for 18 years, where he drove trucks for various companies. On Jan. 18, 2002, he married Karen Monroe in Centerville, Mich. They made their home in Michigan until two years ago, when they moved to Hornick. He loved baseball, football, boating, shooting pool, hitting everybody with his BS specialty, his cat, Simon, and his favorite all time thing of annoying people. He was an avid Minnesota Vikings and L.A. Lakers fan and enjoyed listening to Bob Seger. His family and friends will miss his outgoing personality, gravelly voice, mischievous antics and most of all his warped sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Karen of Hornick; his father, Larry of Holly Springs, Iowa; children: Danielle Freshour, Katie Freshour, Keith Monroe, Anthony Monroe and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Marie Comly in 2005; maternal and paternal grandparents, Leonard and Vivian Dawdy and Harold and Pauline Comly. |
