| About Me | Back in Ohio since 1988 after 4 different states between school and then. "Numnuts" (as I refer to him now) is completely out of my life since 2018 after almost 45 years. Have had Cairn Terriers, West Highland White Terriers( (Westies) and cats since 1976. Now live with my two Westies both born in 2015 (2-1/2 months apart) named Hamish and Dugall, and Feargus - my Cairn Terrier born in May 2022. I have seven godchildren and five of them have kids of their own so very busy as Nana Laurie. Since graduating from high school I have completed two degrees and a couple specialty certifications, travelled most states in the country, and to 27 countries (never with tours). I have two rules: (1) if it is more than 4 hours drive then fly and rent a car, and (2) "roughing it" is the Holiday Inn with no room service. In my current career (still using the RN degree and business degree) since 2017. I deal with CMS/Medicare on a daily basis in clinical compliance - they could drive a person to drink, but I do love my work. No plans to retire soon even though passed retirement age a while ago. I would be bored retired! Have walked Stonehenge, been to the top of the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and Notre-Dame up along the bell towers in Paris. Went to the top of the Wallace Monument in Scotland, ridden the bullet train in Japan, heard the Vienna Boy Choir in person in Vienna, visited concentration camps in various countries and learned the awful histories close up, toured the Louvre, visited the Forbidden City, walked some of The Great Wall, visited cathedrals around the world (find old churches fascinating).
