About Me	My life is a rollercoaster, you better hold on!!! I am a cancer survivor. In September I was dramatically diagnosed with APL, LEUKEMIA. I had gone to get a drink in the middle of the night and fell down the stairs. The next morning I was covered in bruises that you'd usually see on a person in a massive car wreck. I had been fighting for a month what I thought was a sinus infection. I had a fever, body aches, and serious congestion with crazy bloody noses. After a week of going to work as a pediatric nurse I went to the hospital for a headache and vomiting. I've never seen an ER Doc not be able to form a sentence. I told him to just spit it out and I heard those words that changed my life forever, " You have Leukemia, I dont know what type and we are going to send you to The OSU James Cancer Hospital." I went through numerous bouts of chemotherapy, lost my hair, couldnt see my kids every day, had serious side effects and complications. After, a month I was sent home to start outpatient Chemo. It took up everyday and soon was admitted several times for more complications. Soon I was too weak to get myself to treatments and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training member came along side of me and my family to get me back and forth to treatments and bring food for the kids so I didn't have to cook. For that I am forever greatful. As of April 15th I am in remission!!!!! I am a single mother of 3 kids. I have a beautiful boy who is 15 and he is Autistic, ADHD, OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder among others. He has Asperger's Autism so he is Super Smart! Then I have two girls. Lilith just turned 13 and loves to dance, sing and run track. Brooklyn is 9 and I can't believe how fast she is growing up, LOL . I'm I love to run and go shopping and not to mention sleep in my spare time. I really hope to reconnect with my friends from highschool and see how every one is doing. Not to mention spread awareness of Leukemia and how close it can come to you. Updat...(read more)
