Robert Barrett

Class of 1978

Robert always know what he wanted in life and that was to entertain the people. After working in the private sector and raising a family that's just what he did. Starting as an on air radio personality and continuing on managing some of Country Music Biggest Stars. Robert was the cutting edge leader bringing Red Dirt Country to the for front with a group of guys known as "The Great Divide" to a national record deal in Nashville, Tennessee. From there Robert went on to found "Cross Canadian Ragweed" and work with such artist as Garth Brooks, Sammy Kershaw, Tracy Lawrence, Mark Chesnutt, Tanya Tucker, George Jones, Brook and Dunn, Reba McEntire, Confederate Railroad, Alabama and the list goes on. Robert was also known for penning or co-writing a few number one hits for some of the Stars mentioned above as well and a number one for Jo Dee Messina. Robert now resides on Mansfield Texas and has since retired from show business as of May 1, 2011
