Airman 1st Class Terry Lee Hachtel, 19, was fatally shot in the chest and died en route to the hospital January 13, 2002. He was assigned to the 354th Munitions Flight as a member of the maintenance squadron stationed at Eielson AirForce base in Alaska. Terry accompanied some friends to the home of the shooter and was shot after a fight broke out. Terry had no involvement in the fight and was waiting by a car when it happened. The shooter was not convicted and it was ruled that he shot Terry is self defense. Which is absurd since Terry was not involved. He was buried in Roy Utah and survived by his mother, father, and brother.
