Per her wishes, no services will be held. Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk is in charge of arrangements. LeeAnn Fitzgerald Smith Jenkins was born February 23, 1970, at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Susan Marie Ledford and Donald Fitzgerald. LeeAnn attended school in West Point and graduated from West Point High School in 1989. She later attended college, graduating in 2012. LeeAnn worked as a medical transcriptionist in Florence, South Carolina until her health brought her back to Norfolk, Nebraska in 2015. She had battled stage 4 cancer for ten years. LeeAnn loved spending time with her daughter, Samantha Jo Jenkins. She enjoyed being outside planting and gardening. She also liked reading, watching her favorite television shows, and having her companion pet, Angel, by her side. Her family, friends, co-workers, and physicians knew she was a fighter and that she never gave up. LeeAnn is survived by her daughter, Samantha Jo Jenkins of Norfolk, Nebraska; her parents, Susan and Joe Ledford of Norfolk; brothers, Donald Smith of Maryville, Tennessee and Michael Harr of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters, Patti (Chris) Howser of West Point, Nebraska and Sandee (Bob) Rose of Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Beverly Wierzchowski and Lou and Molly Fitzgerald; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
