About Edward P. Kawa, 77, passed away, peacefully in his sleep, on February 13, 2025, following a year-long battle with several health issues. He was at home with his loving wife of 56 years at the time of his passing.

Known affectionately as “Ed” or “Eddie” to family and friends, Ed graduated from West Leyden High School as an accomplished athlete and then from DePaul University with a degree in business. Ed started his decades-long career in finance at Rixon, where he met his wife, Patricia. He worked for 30 years at Keebler Company and then Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, where he was Director of Credit, before retiring.

Ed cherished his roles as a father and grandfather, valuing quality family time above all else. He enjoyed meeting new people and traveling, with a special love for visiting his grandchildren in Australia. Ed was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears, enjoyed murder mystery programs, DIY home repairs, making jokes and cruising around in his convertible.

He is survived by his wife, Pat, his daughters Marisa Kawa and Ali (Craig Tiley) Kawa Tiley, his beloved grandchildren, Marlowe, Archer and Weston; as well as his sisters Jacqueline (Henry) Cole and Eileen (James) Formeller, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
