I didn't actually graduate at West Leyden. At the end of my sophomore year, my parents packed us up and moved us to northern Wisconsin to a town of 3000 +/-. They purchase a resort and restaurant with bar and rental cabins. Your basic resort. The high school would fit handily in West Leydens field house. with room for indoor parking. Firsts for me in Wisconsin: Snowshoe baseball. Yes friends, baseball on snowshoes. You just cannot believe it til you see it. The team we played were from near the Canadian border, and wore the snowshoes year round. Tomahawkians wore them for trapping, and only one of our players had ever had a pair on. The deal was, if you were safe at a base, you had to chug a beer (no sipping allowed), then if there was still time you had to sip another beer at second if you got there. I survived that day by the skin of my teeth. Fun stuff. Other than that, started playing in a few bands, and worked on my beer drinking. Great times.
