Steve passed on March 13, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. Seven years ago, he was diagnosed with cancer of the throat, which eventually went into remission. Then in late 2012, the cancer came back and he was unable to sustain effective treatment. Prior to his illness, Steve was the executive director of a large restaurant in the Washington DC area.
