Sarah L. Kissell, 76, of Monticello, Indiana, died on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. in the IU Health White Memorial Hospital.
Sarah was on born on Thursday, May 29, 1947, to Howard Raymond Kissell and Margery Isabelle (Mathias) Kissell. They both preceded her in death.
Sarah was a 1965 graduate of West Lafayette Senior High School, of West Lafayette, Indiana. She then went on to graduate from Indiana Business College and the Culinary Art Institute of America. Sarah owned and operated the Our House Restaurant for many years.
She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge #2570, Redmen's Lodge, American Legion Post #81, and VFW #2231 all of Monticello, Indiana. Sarah truly enjoyed being a part of and was active when she was able to serve in the Monticello Veterans Honor Guard. She belonged to the Monticello Rotary Club and was a member of the Monticello Presbyterian Church.
Sarah loved to garden and could be found most any day making food for some event or just someone in the community. Sarah was an avid Purdue Football fan and held season tickets in the John Purdue Club Suites for many many years.
