About Me	I graduated from high school in June of 1968 and decided that college was not for me. Most of my friend who graduated a year earlier was not getting through their freshmen year, besides my parents could not afford the tuition. I then went to work for 3 months as a long shore man with My Uncle. Remember during this time the Vietnam War was escalating and the draft was hot and heavy. I made a decision to join the Air Force because of the opportunities it offered with experience and education. Looking back I realize for me it was a good decision. I had acquired some self-discipline prior to joining the service but I acquired independence, confidence and life experience being away from my home. I spent four years in the service and met my lovely wife. We had two lovely children whom I am proud of. I took my discharge in September of 1972 and held some odd jobs until I was hired by Martin Marietta in 1976. Martin Marietta became Lockheed Martin some years later. During this early time I used my GI Bill benifits to attend collage part time and worked full time sometimes 10 - 12 hours a day 7 days a week. Through hard work and perseverance I advanced through several positions of employment and experiences in my 34.5 years with them. During this time I received several Company performance awards. The highlight of my career was receiving the NASA ‘Snoopy Award’ awarded by the astronauts and the Lockheed ‘Launch Honoree’. I have been retired since October 2010 and I am enjoying it. My wife took a small job working and helping her friend with her business. I help in the morning with opening and setup. I also do odd jobs such as housekeeping, painting etc. to fill in some time that I may have. This is done at my leisure. We take some time off to go across the pond (Pacific Ocean) to visit my wife’s family. We built a home there about 7 years ago anticipating retirement and spending time there. It is a beautiful country and the people there are wonderful. I love her family they are very loving. My Thai is not as good as I would like but it is improving. Oh goodness, I forgot to mention my two grandsons. What a blessing in life. I am proud of the both of them...(read more)
