Myra co-authored a textbook, Understanding the Journey: A Lifespan Approach to Working with Grieving People. It was published in 2018. A co-founder of two local hospice programs, she received the 2nd annual National Compassion First Award. She worked in hospice for 37 years. She and Howard Foster married on August 1, 2015. Their story appeared in The Columbus Dispatch, The New York Times, Slice of Life Channel Six TV show and in Inspiring Lives Magazine Spring 2020 issue. They were invited guests on the Kelly Clarkson Show to tell their story that aired in April 2020. They continue to educate and stand for racial reconciliation. They are devoted members of Heritage Christian Church and are active participants in Heritage's Undivided Program.
