Daniel Lamont was born in Newark, NJ, on October 13, 1954. He attended Peshine Avenue and Weequahic High, and received a BA in Education from Kean University. He was a bodybuilder with a deep booming voice and big smile who loved travel and music. Having known him since about 3rd grade, I will always remember his great smile, deep booming voice, love of music, and recognition of friendship in his eyes when I visited him the day before he died. He was a great person who was greatly loved and is sorely missed.

One of the nicest guys I've ever met. He treated me with dignity and respect at all times, and the two of us always had great, respectful one on one conversations. I didn't only consider him a gentle giant, but also a very intelligent brother who was fun to be around. A good friend with a warm heart.
