Judy graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1970 with a degree in Recreation and Parks Administration. In July of that year she married David Taliaferro. They had two children, John and Will. John died suddenly in 2008. Will is married and has two children, Jack and Abi. Judy worked for the United States Postal Service for many years. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Boy Scouts. She earned the Silver Beaver Award. Judy died suddenly from cardiac arrest.
