About Obituary (Joplin (MO) Globe, Apr. 14, 1966)- David Doll, 43 years of age of the Thoms Station-Starr community on Route 2 Joplin, died at 6:30 o'clock Saturday morning, April 9, in Mayo Clinic at Rochester, Minn., where he had been a patient only two days. He had been in ill health several months, and had been seriously ill the past six months. He was born January 14, 1923, in Webb City and was a life-long resident of the Webb City and Joplin area. He was a machinist at the Mid-Western Machinery Co., in Joplin. He was a naval veteran of World War II and a member of the Webb City Masonic Lodge. Mr. Doll was also a member of the Royal Arts Chapter of Webb City and the Ascension Commandery No. 39 of Joplin. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Margie Carpenter Doll, of the home; one son, Jim Doll of the home, and who is a student at Kansas University in Lawrence; three brothers, Elvin Doll of Joplin, Frank Doll of Webb City, and Charles Doll of Joplin; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Green and Mrs. Twyla Betebenner, both of Webb City. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon of this week in the Johnston-Simpson chapel at Webb City. Rev. Jim Jeffries officiated and Masonic rites were conducted by the Masonic Lodge of Webb City. Burial was in Carl Junction Cemetery. Maternal uncle.
