About	Howard C. Moreland (June 24, 1953 - November 24, 2012) Howard C. "Howdy" Moreland, age 59, of Webb City, Mo., passed away on Saturday November 24, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, following a long battle with cancer. Howard was born on June 24, 1953 in Monterey Park, Calif., the son of the late Howard L. and Lola "Ione" (Berry) Moreland. He married Cheryl Powelson on August 14, 1976 in Foley, Mo. Together they made their home in the Webb City area raising their family. Howard worked as a foreman for Eagle Picher, retiring in 2005 due to declining health. He was a member of Christ's Church of Oronogo. He enjoyed baseball, hunting, riding his tractor, gardening, and taking care of his yard. Howard loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by His wife Cheryl Moreland, Webb City, Mo.; two sons, Dustin Moreland and wife Amber, Joplin, and Shane Moreland, Webb City, Mo.; two sisters, Carole Clemons and husband John, Joplin, Mo., and Marie Cottom and husband John, Seattle, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Kaden and Sophia Moreland. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Hedge-Lewis Funeral home. Pastor Duaine Blackmore will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Webb City Schools Bright Futures. Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home .
