About Event

More Details Coming Soon! Please start planning to be there and spreading the word while we are working through the details. If you plan on trying to be at the events on Fri. 10/7/16 AND/OR Sat. 10/8/16 then please go ahead and rsvp.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2016
Parking Lot Tailgate at W.H.S (tentatively 5-7 p).- family friendly; paper products, tents and grills will be provided; classmates contribution of hamburgers, hot dogs, and basic tailgate grill sides will be requested unless we can find a sponsor and/or charge a per plate meal cost (approx. $10-$12/person).

W.H.S. Homecoming Football Game (tentatively 7-10 p)- Classmates encouraged to wear purple and gold, each individual must pay for their own ticket entry fee, Reserved Class of 2001 seating section, acknowledgements & announcements on loud speakers, Class of 2001 Homecoming Court will help with the night's crowning ceremony, and plenty of time to cheer on the Little Giants while catching up with old friends.

Meet/Greet at Heritage Restaurant located downtown on Main Street (tentatively 11 p until you've realized you're in your 30's and should go to sleep way before 2 am): informal adult social time at one of Waynesboro's favorite night spots. Each classmate is entering as an individual patron and no special arrangements will be made for those choosing to meet up for adult time, drinks, and fun. There is typically no cover charge for entry into this establishment on a Saturday night.

It is important to know that:

This is open to folks who would've graduated with us but were unable to officially graduate as well.

We are working hard to keep this free or at a minimal cost so that EVERYONE can attend.

If you want to attend but cannot afford any associated costs if they are needed then please reach out to Debra Burns at debra@warmwaynesboro.org to see how we can include you and take any hardships into consideration.

We would like to work on a plan for a more formal 20 year reunion and may share ways to help contribute to those costs over the next few years to help ensure a beautiful function in 2021 (typing 2021 is a hard thing to do...where has time gone?!?)

Recommended Hotels

We are working on group rates for Holiday Inn & Suites and/or Best Western which are both located near I64.

About Event

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8, 2016

Group Tour of W.H.S.(tentatively 11:00 a)- Principal Tim Teachey will provide a personal tour to those who are interested in seeing the school's interior since the renovations occurred after our class graduated. The school's future (new building on new site or major renovations on current site) is a hot button issue with the School Board and City Council right now. This could be our only opportunity to walk down the halls and reminisce while viewing the layout changes and additions such as the cafeteria, new office, relocated guidance office (to the old office space), classroom changes, etc. depending on the outcomes of those financial decisions. Also, a family friendly opportunity and parents are welcomed as well. We will have to give the school a tour head count at least a month in advance.

Family Potluck Picnic @ Ridgeview Park (tentatively 2:30p): We've reserved the large shelter, Kids’ Free Play, Fishing Pier (local fishing laws must be followed), & an Adult Kickball Game at the baseball field beside the War Memorial Pool which will most like precede the picnic and start (tentatively) at 1pm (Elementary School or Middle School Teams- all classmates wishing to play will be placed on a team even if they joined us after elementary or middle school).

Classmates will be encouraged to bring a dish to share with others and the committee will work on a plan to cover meat costs, paper products, and drinks. Classmates may be asked to contribute to these costs if we cannot secure a sponsor/donation. (No more than $10-$12/adult and $5/child age 4-12)
