About Event
Greetings Wayne Valley and Wayne Hills alumni from 1969 and from surrounding years. We are scheduling a reunion get together to celebrate 55 or so years since graduation for the weekend of September 20, 21 and 22, 2024. Our plan is to have informal meet and greet get togethers at The Lakeside in Packanack Lake on Friday 6 PM where they have live music, at The Barnyard in Totowa on Saturday 6 PM, hopefully on their patio if the weather cooperates and a wrap-up weekend brunch at The Park Wayne Diner on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne at 10 AM. All get togethers will be pay as you go. You can stop in for food, drinks or to just meet up with your friends and classmates. No money or deposits are needed ahead of time.
For those coming from out of town, there are several hotels in the area that have been used for previous reunions. They include the Hilton Garden Inn in Wayne, The Fairfield Inn in Fairfield and the Doubletree on Rt. 46 East in Fairfield. Contact the hotels directly to make you own arrangements.
If anyone has any suggestions on something that can be planned for Saturday during the day, post a note, get a group together and plan it. In past years, weekend plans for reunion groups have included school tours, rounds of golf, lunches, visits to local sights and attending football games.
Most of the classes near ours, including ours, have indicated that their 50th reunion would be the last one that would be formally planned due to the amount of work involved and finding volunteers to do the planning. So rather than planning formal weekends, all we need to do is pick a weekend, suggest some activities and show up. If this year is successful, we can plan the same thing in future years.
So put it on your calendar, contact your classmates and friends and show up. If you are planning to come, place a comment in one of our postings so that your friends can see that you are coming. Looking forward to seeing you in September.
