Jeanne Kightlinger Smith (retired Faculty)

Class of 1971

Hello, Scholars!
My husband, former WHS Classics teacher Francis (Frank) Smith, will have his 90th birthday this spring. He’s doing well—“like a beaver,” as he used to say. A friend (former WHS teacher Mary Ned Nyberg Fotis) and I are starting to put together a book for him composed of messages from friends and ESPECIALLY former WHS students to give him for his birthday. He has such fond memories of WHS and speaks so often of his time there and of the students who meant so much to him.
If you knew him and would be willing to write a brief message and email it to the address below (it’s different from my official one for this site, as we’re trying to keep this a secret), that would be wonderful. Could you add your year of graduation, and if you have a current picture (and even better, an additional one of you during your high school years), please be sure to include them. Or I can find your high school graduation picture if you don’t have a picture from that era at hand. And if you see this message and would be willing to pass the word to other former students, we’d so appreciate it.
Thanks, and greetings to all…
Jeanne Kightlinger Smith & Mary Ned Nyberg Fotis
