Weaver took over Hughes Radar System Group after his Naval Retirement and retired as chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hughes Aircraft. After Hughes merged with Raytheon, Weaver continued there and recently retired as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Raytheon International. Met once with Capt. Weaver at Pt. Mugu when he was CO of the Pacific Missile Test Range to finalize plans for further Phoenix Missile and F-14 Radar ECCM testing on Navy's Sea Test Range using target drones. It never occurred to me that he was "Johny Weaver" WHS 1951's All-Conference Quarterback and Basketball Guard, graduate of U. S. Naval Academy, on Navy's winning team in 1955 Sugar Bowl & 1955 College All Star game. Finally made the connection from his Pt. Mugu Press departure story about his football background.
