Events Grant Walter Oestreich, 74, Lake Mills, passed suddenly on Friday, May 23, 2025.

He was born on August 17th, 1950, in Watertown, the son of the late Earl and Elvira (Liesener) Oestreich. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Oestreich, and his stepmother, Florence Dorn Oestreich.

Grant graduated from Watertown High School, class of 1968 and Graduated UW-Platteville with a degree in Industrial Education.

He had been an engineer for Lindberg Industries in Watertown, a substitute teacher in Johnson Creek, and had also been employed by K-Dee Supply.

Grant was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Mills and had a passion for the Watertown Lions Club.

Grant met the love of his life, Jean Schwarz, at a friend’s wedding. They quickly formed a strong bond and on April 9th, 1988, they were married at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown. They shared 37 wonderful years together. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather—affectionately known as "Bumpa." Grant had a deep love for photography and cherished traveling with family and friends, especially by train. A true train enthusiast, he enjoyed both real and model trains, and he had a special passion for Allis-Chalmers tractors, always eager to talk tractors with anyone who shared his interest.

“Bumpa” never missed a chance to be there for his grandchildren. He took great pride in attending all their events, offering his unwavering support and love.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Jean; their children, Connor (Jessica) of DeForest, Jed (Aliyah) of Oak Creek, and Lindsay (Michael) of McFarland; grandchildren Teddy, Winry, Ollie, and Wyatt; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Grant’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM.
