Events	Bruce E. Opperud, 48, of Watertown, passed away peacefully at home in Milwaukee surrounded by family after a 2 1/2-year battle with cancer on Sunday, July 17, 2011. He fought with grace and courage. Bruce was born on July 25, 1962, to Edward and Marianne (Haase) Opperud in Beaver Dam. He was a 1981 graduate of Watertown High School and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a degree in political science and criminal justice. Bruce worked as a steel fabricator with Bradley Corp. in Milwaukee for 15 years. He loved animals, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Marianne Opperud of Watertown; a sister, Chris (Allen) Tessmann of Plover; three nephews, David, Daniel and Ryan; and a special friend, Carol Feigleson of Myanmar, Asia. He is also survived by cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church with Father Jorge Miramontes officiating. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown. Pederson Funeral Home, 213 S. Fifth St. Watertown
