Gerald "Jerry" Raymond Ebert was born on May 12, 1947, the son of Raymond and Genevieve (née Metzger) Ebert. Jerry met the love of his life, Mary Lou Schroeder, during their time at Watertown High School, where their journey together began before he graduated in 1965. On August 17, 1968, they exchanged vows at St. Henry Catholic Church, beginning a lifelong journey together.

Throughout his working years, Jerry honed his craft as a welder and machinist, contributing his expertise to employers including Lindberg Hevi-Duty, Oven Systems, Mechanical Industries, and Ball.

Jerry’s love for the outdoors was boundless, whether he was gliding across snowy trails on his snowmobile, cruising peaceful waters in his boat, or embracing the freedom of the open road on his Harley. He also cherished the thrill of deer hunting, the memories of pheasant hunting in his youth, and the quiet joy of fishing. Jerry enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables and the peacefulness of cutting wood. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with his cherished grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou Ebert; children, Brian (Doris Hoeft) Ebert and Robby (Jennifer) Ebert; grandchildren, Brianna (fiancé Tucker Nauss) Ebert, Brittany (fiancé Kurtis Wosick), Bradley (fiancée Alyssa Dalton) Ebert, Dakota Ebert, Kent (fiancée Sarah Harper) Ebert, and Colton (fiancée Harlee Micale) Ebert; great-grandchildren, Kohen, Kamden, and Lilah; sisters-in-law, Juanita Ebert, Beverly Ebert, and Lora Schroeder; brother-in-law, Dennis (Jane) Schroeder; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Patrick Ebert, Michael Ebert, and Thomas Ebert; sister, RaeAnn (Paul) Gruss; and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Schroeder.
