| About Me | I am severely disabled from a 1999 MVC caused by a driver running me off the gravel road in our small community! I make every day a special one. I have not officially worked since 1999, but the pain I endure everyday is some days unbearable, bit this does not stop me. I do work with Instacart, but with so many shoppers and standing on my legs all day, I have changed to DoorDash. Until recently, I have made up to $1500/month, but in a town with no more than 35,000 people, DoorDash has found it necessary to over hire, teenagers mostly who have no idea how to run a small, customer-oriented business and this too cannot help me to maintain those numbers as before. So, it's not looking good and without the regular pay, my bills frequently do not get paid. I know the good Lord will not allow me to go hungry. I continue to pray. I bought a house for cash after my settlement, but even after wise investing, I have to set priorities and use this $ I have saved for retirement. I pray this $ will last me through my life as I do hate asking anyone for $ EVER. My brother, after my mom died, we took care of her as she aged badly with blindness, moved in with Jess and I to care for her through her 4 level open heart surgery and six weeks later, a mastectomy. I felt honored to care for her as she always did for me. She did not die of cancer, she died from a life of 92 years fraught with heartache, medical problems and the loss of communication from her favorite child, Michael Alan Hendershot. I begged him many times to just come and sit with her, but any illness was something he could NEVER deal with. After her death, which he did not want to know about, he wrote me via text that he never wanted to ever hear from myself or Jessica, my beloved daughter, or he would take legal matters to prevent this. It not only broke my heart, I am strong, but as his only niece, all she wanted was to call him and keep him informed on the goings on with her life. Sadly that can never happen. She finds great joy reading, spending time with friends and working with DoorDash and for that my heart smiles. We have also reconnected with the Hendershot family in Florida and pray we may soon fly to see them. My Uncle Bill turns 101 on October 10th! Because of the hurricane, it may be some time.
