About | MARY DELEON OBITUARY Mary Dianne DeLeon, 72, of Joplin, Mo passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born March 5, 1950 to William and Marjorie Pennington in Kansas City, Mo. Mary was an Air Force brat who lived in many states growing up including South Carolina, New York, Alaska and Colorado. She graduated from Roy J. Wasson High School in Colorado Springs, Co in 1968. She married the love of her life Daniel J DeLeon, on June 3, 1983. Mary worked most of her life in various positions for Safeway Grocery Store in Colorado Springs. Once she retired in 2003, she moved to Joplin, Mo and was a paraprofessional for the Joplin School District for 7.5 years. She retired in March, 2012. After retirement, Mary enjoyed working out with her friends and played cards weekly with these same friends. She enjoyed going to the theater and her most favorite hobby was spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She also spent many hours in the shop beside Dan, helping him find the tools he lost while rebuilding several old cars and trucks. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Marge Pennington. Mary leaves behind her loving husband, Dan of the home, daughter, Denise and husband, Roger Robertshaw of Boerne, Tx, daughter, Carrie O'Keefe and her wife, Violet of McAlester, Ok and daughter, Sherri and her husband, Rick Bryant of Webb City, and her brother Jon Pennington of Rockville, Md. She is also survived by grandchildren, Brandon Bryant, Adam and wife Alisha Bryant, Felicia Severson, Makayla Severson, Austin Robertshaw, Amber Robertshaw and Emma Pacheco. Family will receive friends and family on Saturday, November 26th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the family home at 1661 S. Black Cat Rd, Joplin, 64801. Donations can be made to the Webb City Elks Lodge for Elks National Foundation or Watered Gardens in Joplin, Mo. |
