| About Me | Semi-retired but still working on research consulting gigs and occasionally teaching. Over the past 20 years my research has mostly focused on disability and employment topics. My first degree was a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston. My PhD is in Environmental Psychology from the City University of New York. After college, I was first a VISTA volunteer in a community design center in Denver, CO--for which I eventually became the director. From Denver I moved to NYC and initially worked for an architecture firm before starting a PhD in Environmental Psychology and directing a housing research group at CUNY. After 10+ years in NYC, I moved to the U of California at Davis, then Sonoma State University and finally an Institute at San Diego State University until 2022. In California, I co-owned a vineyard and winery for over 20 years (but definitely not a way to make money! LOL). I recently sold the vineyard and (for now) I am based in Arizona wine country Southeast of Tucson, AZ. I am also in Houston, TX 1-2 weeks a month on elder care duty with my gracefully aging mother.
