About | Born in Kansas City, Kansas, she was the daughter of Dolly Joye Hill McCreery and Aley Jefferson Hill, Jr. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance, from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in which her activities and societies included Music Theater, Opera, Ballet, Mortar Board, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Chorale. She earned a Master of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Miami with activities and societies being Performance, Opera, Musical Theater, Teaching, Music Recording, Production, and Acting. She also earned her Certification in Film Studies, Film/Cinema/Video Studies from the University of Southern California, USC School of Cinematic Arts with activities and societies in Film Production, Video Production, Directing, Acting, Camerawork, Sound Recording, Music Editing, Video Editing, Film Editing, and Scriptwriting. She was employed at William Raveis as a Luxury Properties Specialist. A full-time Real Estate Consultant and Sales Associate specializing in Greenwich, CT, Fairfield County, CT and Westchester County, NY, Julie earned 10+ Real Estate Designations and Certifications including GRI, SRES, SRS, Green, RSPS, PSA, BPOR, SFR, AHWD, ePRO, CHP. Before working in real estate, Julie worked in the Financial Services and Mortgage industries as a Director, Manager and Analyst interfacing at all levels empowering people and meeting directives through change management and training initiatives. As a Technology Professional she had extensive experience in Compliance, Security, Training, Administration, Reporting, Network, Project Management, User Interface & Support, Procurement, Data, and Change Management. As a lifelong Entrepreneur, she founded and grew several small businesses including Technology Consultancy, a Music School with a Recording studio, a Retail/Wholesale dessert business plus her Real Estate business. Her career in Radio included On-Air Host for Talk and Music, Producer, Director, Audio Engineer, Compliance Officer, Fundraising, Public Service Director, Programming, and Traffic Director. With her passion and love for Music and the Arts, she was an accomplished Opera Singer, Performer, Recording Artist, Educator, Consultant, and Board Member. Her professional organizations included: International Institute of Business Analysis, International Institute of Business Analysis, Julie Uygur Consulting, Alliance for Women in Media, American Women in Radio & Television, Gemological Institute of America, Society for Human Resource Management, National Association of REALTORS, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Greenwich, CT. Her Volunteer Organizations included: The Convent of the Sacred Heart, Greenwich, Green Chimneys School & Department for Children Services, The Junior League of Greenwich, The United Way of Greenwich, The Town of Greenwich Commission, Northwest Greenwich Association, United in Giving Humanity, Romanian Orphan Rights, Young Audiences of Houston Arts and Culture and Springdale Figure Skating Club. Julie’s causes included: Arts and Culture, Children, Civil Rights and Social Action, Economic Empowerment, Education, Human Rights, Disaster and Humanitarian Relief, Poverty Alleviation, and Social Services. She is survived by her husband, Hal Uygur, and her children Claire, Ian and Arielle Uygur and is remembered for her kind, generous, loyal, and loving heart by her family and friends. Friends are invited to her memorial service on Friday, January 5 at 11:00 A.M., at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 84 Sherwood Ave., Greenwich, CT followed by burial at St. Mary’s/Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich, CT.
