About Me	Summer '63 Grand Tour of Europe, typist at Northwestern National Life and substitute secretary for John S. Pillsbury, U of M major German (Danke Herr Meyer!) minor French, one year--too boring, home office National Car Rental Mpls assistant to VP vehicle purchasing, left for Germany with one-way ticket April 1, 1965, learned German shorthand and business correspondence in night school, bi-lingual secretary in Hamburg Germany, return to Mpls and National Car Rental 1967, begin career in Scandinavian design at International Design Center downtown Mpls, one year in wholesale in Hartford, Ct/NYC, buying trips to Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, move to husband's hometown Madison, WI in 1970 and start retail store Bord & Stol importing furnishings directly from Scandinavia, modern interior design, annual trips to Denmark until 1984, created and managed store and catalog for just modern barstools until 1989, free lance modern interior design until 1995, moved practice to Hilton Head Island SC to be near son Carl who started at Savannah College of Art and Design in 1993, opening storefront "Scandinavian Home/Office", moved to Savannah GA 1995 and opened IKEA-like "Hauswerks" annual winner of best furniture store in Historic Disctrict Savannah, closed in 2003, working interior design and internet sales thereafter, now in retirement since 1/5/11 yeah 65 just selling on eBay (modern1946).
