Sandra E. Carlson, age 82, died peacefully on June 27, 2019 in Edina, MN.
Born April 11, 1937 to Edwin and Ellen Carlson in Waseca, MN, she was a 1955 graduate of Waseca High School. She worked in Waseca & Minneapolis before moving to Washington DC to work for Hubert Humphrey during his Senate term and subsequent Vice Presidency as an Executive Secretary. After the passing of Humphrey, she moved to New York City and worked for the United States Information Agency as a Program Director to foreign visitors for cultural and educational purposes. In total, she spent 30 years with the US Government. She returned to MN in 2007 to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Ramirez and sisters, Sonja Anderson and Elva Shea.
