Ardene May Schab, 74, of Moberly, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011, at University Hospital in Columbia. Ardene was born March 24, 1937, in Waseca, MN, to Harvey Emil and Anne May (Gerbracht) Gerdts. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary and the VFW.
On December 13, 1958, in Waseca, MN, she married Eugene Oscar Johnson. On June 24, 1979, in Moberly, she married Walter J. Schab and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1990.
She is survived by four sons, John and Jullie Johnson, Thomas and Teresa Johnson, Brian Johnson and Michael and Kozue Johnson all of Moberly; one daughter, Rachelle and Kevin Freese of Kansas City, MO; four brothers, Elgin and Tammy Gerdts of Piney Flats, TN, Gary and Doris Gerdts of Owatonna, MN, Sylvan and Judy Gerdts of Rochester, MN and Loren and LaVonne Gerdts of Waseca, MN; two sisters, Lorna Rawdon of Lincoln, MO and Carol and Ward Ask of Waseca, MN; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one husband.
Ardene attended Waseca Central High School until she changed to the Southern School of Agriculture in Waseca to complete her high school education.
