Marlys was born in Waseca, Minn., on February 20, 1938, to Lloyd and Evelyn (Debord) Weyhrauch. She married Dale G. Kauffmann on September 6, 1956, in Waseca and he preceded her in death on January 21, 2001.
Marlys assisted her husband as the receptionist at River City Towing then worked as a caretaker at River Place Apartments in La Crosse until retiring.
Marlys was a wonderful homemaker who was truly devoted to caring for her family. She enjoyed baking and cooking as well as gardening and working outside her home. She also loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her four children and seven grandchildren. She is further survived by her mother, Evelyn Weyhrauch of Waseca, Minn.; two sisters, Joann Voglesang and her husband, Dale of Waseca, and Sandy Obermeyer and her husband, Gus, of Bricelyn Minn.; a sister-in-law, Myrt Weyhrauch of Rochester, Minn.; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband Dale, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebecca Kauffmann; her father, Lloyd Weyhrauch; and a brother, Darold Weyhrauch.
